I'VE MOVED!

0 comments

Hi friends, I've updated my blog and you can now find me at www.sarahkeller.com. It's the same URL, just a new and improved design via Wordpress. This Blogger-hosted site isn't going anywhere though, it will stay put right here at www.sarahmkeller.blogspot.com. Thanks for following along and be sure to visit the new site!

DESIGN & LAYOUT UPDATES ON THE BLOG!

0 comments

Hi friends! Two things.

1) It's March! Hallelujah. Who else is elated that February is behind us? Those of us in the North Country aren't out of the woods yet, but at least we're one step closer to green grass and playground weather!

2) In case you haven't checked in over the past week, I've been busy making some updates to the blog. {Which is coincidentally why I've been slacking on posting pictures from Asher's birthday party- sorry family, they're coming next!}

But black to the blog- as you can see, there's a slightly updated layout with a new header on the right hand side, an updated photo of me, easier navigation to the About/FAQs/Contact page, and the new crown graphics and favicon. To me, crowns are a sweet reminder of the kingship of Christ and I love the idea of having His "fingerprints" all over this little online space. The color scheme is mostly neutral- black, white, charcoal gray, a standard gray- with a pop of mustard yellow. And the fonts are Halohandletter, Georgia, Arial, and Frenchy. Halohandletter can be downloaded for free here and Frenchy can be downloaded here.

I have to admit that I almost never like it when my favorite bloggers change up the design of their site. Eventually I do, but I have to get used to it. Is that just me? Anyway, I don't blame you if you're not crazy about what's new here. But for that reason specifically, I haven't touched any of the main navigation features, just the graphics and some still-in-the-works updates to the About page. It's definitely not a finished project, and it never will be {can you believe it looked like this in the beginning?} But it's come a long way from what it was just last week and I'm really happy with it. I'm not sure what spurred my itch to change things up, but once I get that itch I pretty much can't help myself. And it doesn't hurt that I've been having hyper bursts of energy- nesting, perhaps?- that keep me awake past midnight with distraction-free time to goof around in Photoshop and HTML.

It's been great to have something fun and inspiring to work towards and to fend off the late February cabin fever of winter in Watertown, praise God! I can't even remember how many times we made the news for being the coldest place in the continental U.S. these past few weeks. Needless to say, the boys and I pretty much don't leave the house unless it's absolutely necessary. They're troopers!

One more thing, you can follow me on Bloglovin if you'd like a live feed of posts. I also spruced up my social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ in order to have a more cohesive look across the board.

Thanks so much, and here's to a blessed month of March for all of us!

For the Love of Blogs

I've had my feet up lately. No house means {almost} no cooking, no cleaning, no organizing, no projects. Not to mention, no church commitments to keep me busy for the time being.  {Read more about our current Army move here and here}. And so blog-land has offered safe refuge from boredom. For a while I had a few favorites I followed, mostly based on home decor, fashion, and photography. But lately I've been wishing I could find inspiring blogs written by Christian women and moms. Typing "Christian blogs" into Google really didn't yield much, so for a while I was coming up empty... Until I stumbled upon Jen's site, who lead me to the Kincaids, who lead to many more gems! I'm so thankful for these women and moms who love Jesus and are doing a beautiful job of sharing Him online. And I'm so thankful to have stumbled across them in the providence of God!

Here are a few who also link to other great ones from their sites...

Stay-at-home moms who loves Jesus:
Lindsay @ Passionate Homemaking {she's on break but has great resources on her site}.
Bethany @ And Then There Were Four... {a personal friend of mine}.

An inspirational woman after the heart of God:
Nadine @ A Secondary Heartbeat

She Reads Truth
And here's a whole collection of women via She Reads Truth. {Just found these today so I haven't seen a lot of them yet, but they seem promising!}

I hope these are a blessing and an encouragement to you!
