Our weekend started with a bit of a bang- Silas woke up at 1am Friday morning wheezing and coughing like a seal. This is the second time he's had a sudden onset of croup {and by sudden I mean out of nowhere}, and this is the second time we've ended up in the ER for it. Between the croup and the slight cold that the rest of us had, all of our weekend plans came to a screeching halt. Normally that would be a bummer, but this time we really enjoyed a low-key weekend. We finished up some things around the house, including what will likely be the last of the raking. I'd like to say that it was a true team effort, but in reality it was Thane getting the real work done while I snapped hundreds of photos of the boys in all their leaf-playing glory. Finally Thane compelled me with a few gentle hints to just put the camera down and hold the trash bags open while he filled them with leaves. But not long after that, Silas started helping and of course that presented more camera-worthy photos. I have to admit that after a long break I just recently starting picking the camera up again, so it's been fun to capture as many outdoor moments as possible before winter settles in. And it won't be long, temperatures are dropping fast and snow is in the forecast. I hope all of us- especially those of us up north- can make the most of these last days of the fall!
