ABIDE | GLEENING {DEUTERONOMY 24:19}

The boys and I are doing our best to get outside and enjoy these last days of fall. They're fading quickly! The reds and oranges and yellows are settling into brown, and most of the leaves have fallen. It's been fun to explore the wide-open fields where the corn was harvested a couple of weeks ago. Asher loves to find the occasional ear that the Combiner missed and then remove the shuck and pull each little kernel from the cob. Next year, if we're able to be here during Harvest, maybe we'll "pay" him to glean the leftovers. And maybe we can even put part of that pay towards helping the needy, especially around the holidays. I want to get better and more intentional about reaching out and sharing the blessings that God has so richly poured into the life of our little family. So, next fall {and in the meantime}, why not start practicing it together?

“When you reap your harvest in your field, and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands." {Deuteronomy 24:19}
P.S. Did you see Asher's new shoes in the second photo? He's quickly going from toddler to {real} boy! :-)
