AMBER'S TEA PARTY THEMED BABY SHOWER

A few friends and I had the huge honor of hosting a baby shower for our dear friend Amber a few weeks ago! She's about to be a new mom to a sweet little girl, so we put together a very girly tea party themed shower for her.

The decor was simple. If it was white, gold, pink, lace, or crystal, we used it! The only thing that was made by hand {other than the food} was this open-frame twine & clothespin onesie display with circular cardstock cards for the guests to sign. Anybody recognize the same frame from Asher's birthday party?

These little bouquets were the table centerpiece and were made with inexpensive grocery store flowers;

The menu included turkey salad on croissants, toasted baguette rounds with a cream cheese pesto spread, toasted baguettes with mozzarella and tomatoes, a fruit tray, spinach quiche, homemade scones, skewered donut holes, a rosette iced cake, a Citrus Mint Cooler punch {the best punch recipe I've ever had!}, and of course tea and coffee.

We played a few simple games and had these hand decorated mason jars as prizes;

And seeing Amber open her gifts was so much fun! I think it got a lot of us expecting ladies excited for our little ones.

ASHER'S A-MAZING "A" THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY DECOR

Hi there! I'm so excited to share some the details of Asher's 4th birthday party decor! I had a lot of fun planning it and putting it all together, although I have to admit that it took me a while to come up with the direction for it. Asher doesn't have a favorite superhero or toy, which made pinning down more conventional ideas hard. In fact, I was at a total loss until the "A-mazing A" idea struck.

I stuck to it pretty closely starting with a big, quirky "Welcome to Asher's A-mazing A Party" display with twine and clothespins, full of fun "A" items; an aardvark, alien, axe, artichoke, airplane, anchor, argyle socks, astronaut, antlers, Arkansas, arithmetic, armadillo, ant, alphabet, arrow, abacus, antelope, asteroid, atlas, alligator, acrobats, anvil, and of course- the best one of all- Asher!

I've always loved typography so I will never turn down an opportunity to make giant, printed letters!

Equipped with cardstock in black, orange, teal, and pink {couldn't forget the girls!}, chalk for decorating their paper, and- of course- dads to help the kids do the folding.

I wanted to keep the orange, teal, and black/white color theme consistent, so I made sure the plates and cups matched the balloons. The black and white paper straws might have been my favorite little accessory.

'A-MAZING "A" TREAT' FAVOR BAGS

I put together these simple favor bags using brown lunch bags, orange and teal decorative paper, printed "A"s, and clothespins as fasteners. Inside were "A-pplejacks", "A-nimal crackers", and "A-lmond Joys".

AN "A" THEMED BIRTHDAY FOR ASHER

Asher turns four in one week, wow. I thought I was getting a head start on planning for it, but now that it's seven days away I'm wondering where the time has gone! We're not planning an extravagant party, by any means, but since this is the first year since he turned one that we won't either be in between houses or in the middle of a deployment, I want it to be special. So I've been rounding up some crafty supplies and fun ideas for how to give his big day a personalized touch. I was at a total loss for inspiration until I finally came up an "A" theme. I love anything to do with typography, so I'm pretty excited about all the fun things I can do with giant A's! Not to mention a few quirky ideas that I really hope I can pull off before the clock ticks down. I have to admit that February is traditionally one of my least favorite months, but with a birthday to celebrate, a new baby coming soon, a house to put on the market, and a big move to plan for, it's been the opposite of boring!
